12 Tough Questions to Ask Before You Hire an Equine Lawyer

 

  1. What percentage of your practice is devoted to equine law?  (At least 75%.)
  2. How many years have you competed in horse shows?  (At least 15 years.)
  3. How many jury trials have you tried?  (At least 100.)
  4. Do you have experts and contacts in the industry who can help with my case?
  5. If I can’t come to your office, will you come to my farm or ranch?
  6. How often will you let me know the status of my case?
  7. Do you attend the National Equine Law Conference each year?
  8. Will you send me free educational articles on equine law?
  9. What are the chances we can resolve my matter without going to court?
  10. What can I expect as a reasonable settlement?
  11. Do you conduct free educational seminars so I can learn more about equine law?
  12. Do you offer a free initial consultation?
